SYSTEMS ENGINEERING
InfoTechSVP performs systems engineering services for complex programs and projects over their lifecycles. These services apply systems thinking principals with interdisciplinary application of engineering activities and technical management practices. InfoTechSVP provides these services to Government/DoD C4I systems and commercial IT projects across the program/project lifecycle from requirements definition, to systems design and integration, to verification and validation, and operations including system modernizations and technical insertion. InfoTechSVP applies systems engineering to ensure a project or system is evaluated from all aspects and the components or subsystems are integrated into a whole functioning system.
ANALYSES AND TRADE STUDIES
InfoTechSVP conducts analyses and trade studies to ensure customers make informed technical decisions as part of the systems engineering process. These range in purpose across a project’s lifecycle and from full system concept study, to subsystem or component and software evaluation and selection. Early alternatives analyses are used to define and investigate the potential concepts that can be applied to meet a challenge or need. Trade studies are performed throughout a project’s lifecycle to evaluate technical alternatives that may be applied to the initial system to meet the requirements or latter in the project’s lifecycle to continue to meet initial or new requirements. These studies can be coupled with cost analysis enable our customers to make informed investment decisions over a project’s life.
DEFENSE ACQUISITION LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT
InfoTechSVP has a detailed understand of the U.S. Department of Defense Acquisition Lifecycle defined by DoDD 5000.01, DoDI 5000.02 including supporting DoD policies and Service/Agency specific instructions and practices. This experience includes Acquisition Category (ACAT) I Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAP) and Major Automated Information Systems (MAIS) with DoD and Component oversight, to ACAT II Major System with Component oversight, to ACAT III and Navy/Marine Corps ACAT IV and Abbreviated Acquisition Programs (AAP) delegated to Systems Commands and Program Executive Offices. This understanding of the Defense Acquisition Framework from Initial Capabilities Definition through Operations & Support and Disposal and all the phase and Milestone Decision points in between. This enables InfoTechSVP to ensure compliance as programs progress to their next major decision point and the ability to identify and implement effective and feasible tailored strategies fitting the unique nature of each acquisition program.
CYBERSECURITY, INFORMATION ASSURANCE, AND NETWORK SECURITY
InfoTechSVP performs cybersecurity, information assurance and network security engineering to defend customer’s networks, systems, data and personnel. There are a myriad of government, commercial and DoD policies and standards that are applicable to commercial and DoD/Government networks, computing environments and information systems. With CISSP certified staff, InfoTechSVP provides Cybersecurity Engineering to protect and defend customer’s networks from Social Engineering actions including Phishing, Pretexting, Baiting, and Quid pro quo. InfoTechSVP also provides information security to protect physical and digital data. This includes developing a proper governance framework and developing security controls to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability. In addition, InfoTechSVP provides Network Security engineering services to protect customer’s IT infrastructure cyber threats including: Viruses, worms and Trojan horses; Zero-day attacks; Hacker attacks; Denial of service attacks; and Spyware and adware through the implementation of hardware and software solutions. Our penetration testing services ensures regulatory compliance and identifies network and system vulnerabilities.
REQUIREMENTS DEFINITION AND ANALYSIS
InfoTechSVP performs systems requirements definition and analysis for DoD/Government and commercial customers. This includes the initial requirements development activities supported by working with the end user and stakeholders to identify the capabilities and performance levels the system or solution must achieve. InfoTechSVP clarifies and translates requirements into technical requirements, then performs functional analysis by creating and analyzing functional architectures to improve the understanding of the technical requirements. InfoTechSVP then applies the requirements management technical management process using multiple techniques and tools. The requirements are decomposed and mapped into traceability matrices for allocation in the design process and future verification and validation activities. InfoTechSVP requirements services enable both commercial and DoD/Government customers to accurately define, manage and ensure the end product or service will meet the intended technical and operational performance outcomes.
ARCHITECTURE DESIGN
InfoTechSVP provides architecture design engineering services to DoD/Government customers on C4I systems, and for DoD and commercial customers' software and IT projects and solutions. Architecture design translates the results of the requirements definition and requirements analysis processes into alternative design solutions, physical architectures and ultimately a final design solution. This culminates in a set of solution-specific requirements that will support the subsequent implementation and integration activities. These include functional and physical architecture and network design architectures, for DoD programs and project InfoTechSVP prepares DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) views. InfoTechSVP architecture design services enable both commercial and DoD/Government customers to use the rigor of engineering practices to achieve systems and project objectives.
IMPLEMENTATION AND INTEGRATION
InfoTechSVP performs implementation and integration services for DoD/Government and commercial customers. InfoTechSVP uses the implementation process to whether low-level components and subsystems will be realized through make, buy or reuse. Then InfoTechSVP performs integration activities. For DoD C4I systems the integration process includes the incorporation of components, lower level subsystems and software into higher level subsystems and systems. Through this process verification and validation is performed to ensure subsystems function together as a system. This also includes the process of linking together different systems and software physically or functionally to perform as an integrated solution. During this process analysis is performed to improved product quality and performance and reducing operational costs and improving response time for the customer. Subsystems and systems that complete the implementation and integration processes proceed to the transition process where they move to the next stage of development, or for operational deployment when the planned system or project is completed. InfoTechSVP applies these processes to isolate and control technical risks and ensure elements of the system or project meet the customer’s requirements.
VERIFICATION & VALIDATION
InfoTechSVP performs Verification & Validation for DoD/Government and commercial customers during the design and integration phases to ensure components and subsystem meet the specification and full-up system meets the stakeholder requirements. InfoTechSVP prepares plans and procedures; performs verification through Inspection, Demonstration, Test, and Analysis during development; performs validation through testing or prepares for and supports independent validation and verification; and prepares or analyzes reports to capture verification and validation results. InfoTechSVP’s use of Verification and Validation procedures are used to ensure the product, service, or system meets requirements, specifications and that it fulfills its intended purpose prior to full deployment or full operational use.
TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT PROCESSES
InfoTechSVP is conversant in and applies multiple technical management processes as part of the Systems Engineering processes including Decision Analysis, Technical Planning, Technical Assessment, Requirements Management, Risk Management, Configuration Management, Technical Data Management, and Interface Management. These processes ensure the stakeholder requirements drive the system design and measure outcomes, technical progress is measured and managed throughout the process, Risks are identified with mitigation and contingency plans, and proper reviews and assessments are performed as toll gates at specific stages during the project lifecycle. InfoTechSVP’s application of these technical management processes ensure the customer’s programs and projects proceed through their lifecycle and achieve the intended operational outcomes within the defined schedule and planned investment.
